I cycle everywhere, I love being on my bike and my boyfriend does too so it's a great way to get about together or on our own. We still have a car which is due for its insurance renewal, so I'm looking online at car insurance quotes and wondering if we even need a car any more! We use the car if we're going a long distance, if we're going to do a big food shopp or buying something hefty that needs transporting home. All these are pretty occasional, and we tend to do food shopping in dribs and drabs throughout the week, on our bikes anyway. But, it is useful having the option of the car, if there's torrential rain or one of us hurts ourselves and can't ride for a while. Plus, we're thinking about starting a family soon so we'll definitely need the car more than bikes then. Maybe I should be looking at family life insurance as well as car insurance then. I just wish there was a cheap pay as you go option to car insurance and road tax, so much of it is wasted! Photo: visitflanders (Flickr)
